IPL
What is intense pulsed light (IPL)?
IPL is a cosmetic tool that uses intense, rapid pulses of light to address a wide range of beauty concerns. OWM Integrative Wellness is an integrative and functional medicine practice that offers many services to help you look and feel your best, including the Venus Versa™ treatment system for IPL therapy for natural skin revitalization.

IPL
What does IPL treat?
OWM Integrative Wellness provides IPL for photorejuvenation, addressing the effects that aging, stress, and sun exposure have on the look of your skin. The OWM Integrative Wellness team uses IPL to treat:

∙ Irregular pigmentation on the face, hands, chest, and arms ∙ Sun spots, liver spots, age spots, and brown spots
∙ Melasma (patches of darkened skin on the cheeks or forehead) ∙ Rough, uneven skin tone
∙ Spider veins and broken capillaries ∙ Rosacea (a skin condition that causes redness on the nose, cheeks, and forehead)
∙ Fine lines and wrinkles ∙ Large pores

Using varying wavelengths of light delivered in rapid pulses, IPL heats and destroys the pigmented cells in your skin. Your body removes these damaged cells from the area, improving your skin’s tone and texture.

OWM Integrative Wellness uses IPL for laser hair removal. The health and wellness practice also provides chemical peels for skin rejuvenation. Chemical peels evenly exfoliate the outer layer of skin, revealing the younger, healthier skin underneath.

What happens during IPL treatments?
Spa providers at OWM Integrative Wellness will customize your IPL treatment plan based on your beauty goals. They review the details of your treatment at your consultation, so you know what to expect.

While you relax in the treatment chair, your provider cleans your skin with an antibacterial agent. They place the cosmetic tool over your skin and activate the device. IPL treatments take 15-45 minutes.

IPL
What happens after IPL treatment?
IPL at OWM Integrative Wellness is noninvasive and nonablative so that you can resume your normal activities after your session. You can expect some redness immediately following your IPL treatment, but this resolves within an hour.

You may see improvements in the look of your skin after your first IPL session. To get the best results, the team at OWM Integrative Wellness recommends a series of 3-6 treatments set at three-week intervals.

Venus Photo IPL Rejuvenation

Venus Photo IPL Rejuvenation

Fight Sun and Age-Related Damage with the Power of Light with Venus Versa™ Photo Rejuvenation Treatments!

Whether it is from rays of the sun or the stress of time and aging, damage accumulates deep within the tissues of the skin. Many of the undesired changes that we notice on our faces are triggered by either natural ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun or artificial UV rays from tanning beds/booths. Venus Versa Photo Rejuvenation is a powerful, highly effective Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment that harnesses the power of light to reverse these effects of sun damage and photoaging, as well as the natural aging process.

What to know before you go

A typical IPL session with Venus Versa™ usually takes about 15-20 minutes, and because the treatment is non-invasive and non-ablative, you can return to your normal activities immediately with no downtime! Some clients will experience temporary facial redness which may last up to an hour after the treatment. You will see some reduction in pigmentation problems immediately after your first treatment, and for individuals with minor brown spots and small vascular abnormalities like spider veins, one or two treatments may be all that is required. Most clients, however, require a series of 3-6 treatments, spaced about three weeks apart, for optimal results.

IPL
Is Venus Versa IPL safe for all skin tones?
Venus Versa™ photo facial treatments are powered by Intense Pulsed Light technology, which targets the pigment in your skin. They tend to work best for light to medium skin tones. The treatment may work on darker skin, but there is a higher risk of discoloration because darker skin has more pigment in it. It’s best to consult with your treatment provider to see if the treatment is right for you.
IPL
Is there downtime after treatment?
The Venus Versa IPL treatments are non-invasive and non-ablative. You may return to your normal activities immediately with no downtime. Some clients may experience temporary redness which may last up to a few hours after treatment. Makeup may be worn after treatment if desired.
IPL
How many sessions will I need?
Individuals with minor brown spots and small vascular abnormalities may see results immediately after their first treatment. Most clients, however, require a series of 4-6 treatments spaced about 3 weeks apart for optimal results. A touch-up session is recommended every 3-6 months depending on the skin’s response to the treatment.
IPL
How long is each session?
An average Venus Versa IPL session lasts about 15-45 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area.

Administration & Safety

The state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light treatment delivered by Venus Versa™ is designed to deliver strong and precise infrared light throughout the sensitive tissues of the skin. Each treatment is custom-tailored to deliver the light at various depths to treat your specific concerns at their source. The light restores and rejuvenates dead and damaged skin cells at the molecular level, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin, reducing wrinkles and pigmentation projects, and improving your skin’s overall tone and texture. Venus Versa™’s revolutionary, built-in cooling system ensures that it delivers safe, comfortable, highly effective rejuvenation over larger areas of the skin while avoiding unnecessary damage to the surface of the skin. IPL treatments utilize safe infrared light (as opposed to UV light) to improve and enhance the color, tone, texture, and condition of your skin by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin deep within the tissues of the skin.
